World-renowned auction house, Bonhams, has just sold a 1965 Aston Martin DB5 convertible for a whopping $2.14 million USD. The car is one of 35 left-hand drive models ever made. The number is pretty significant, firstly because vintage Aston Martin cars rarely rack in eight-figure numbers, but also because this makes it the highest paid coupe or convertible in the history of automobile auctions. However, this isn’t the highest someone’s paid for an Aston Martin — a 1955 DB3S racer took in $5.5 million USD, and the DB5 from James Bond Thunderball and Goldfinger went for $4.6 million USD.
