The Nike+ Fuel app is the iOS counterpart for the FuelBand, Nike‘s wearable health tracker, which allows you to track your daily activity. Well now you can use the application without the FuelBand itself. Through an update released yesterday, the application connects with your iOS HealthKit, merging your NikeFuel Points with the Apple app. The iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s includes movement tracking sensors that allow the apps to track your movement for health metrics, and Nike has applied its own system of NikeFuel points which can be displayed in your HealthKit. The Fuel app is free, and requires iOS 7.1 or higher to use, but the HealthApp is only available on iOS devices using 8.0 and higher. Nike closed its FuelBand hardware operations last year, and it seems that the sportswear giant is looking to implement their Fuel technology as a service with Apple from now on.
