Zaha Hadid's New Project Is a Stunning NYC Condo Right Beside the High Line
Luxe amenities include a private IMAX theater, 75-foot sky-lit pool, private spa suite, and more.
Having just unveiled the futuristic Volu Pavilion at Design Miami earlier this month, a project designed in tandem with Patrik Schumacher, Zaha Hadid is already making headlines again with the announcement of her first residential building in New York. Located at 520 W 28th Street, the structure will be immediately adjacent to Manhattan’s iconic High Line. Known for a stunning international body of work, the renowned architect once again utilizes her hallmark nature-inspired silhouettes to present a design heavy with elegant curvature. As visible in early renditions, the building’s unique luster is achieved with a hand-rubbed application on the metal façade. Propelled upwards in a continuous line, the exterior is an awe-inspiring edifice that invites your eyes to constantly discover new facets produced by a weaving chevron that sweeps through a multi-level makeup.
Comprised of 39 distinct residences over 11 stories, the condo also showcases a 2,500-square-foot Sculpture Deck next to the building proper. The expansive space is set to feature signature artworks curated by High Line Art and presented by Friends of the High Line. In addition to a truly stunning living community (and a hefty $50 million USD price tag on the penthouse unit), 520 is also equipped with a slew of luxurious amenities that include a private IMAX theater, a 75-foot sky-lit pool, a private spa suite, a wellness level, an entertainment suite and High Line terrace, and a secured viewing room.
