In Porsche’s long history, the 718 mid-engine sports car stands out as one of the most powerful and beautiful models from the Stuttgart carmaker. Light, fast and responsive, the 718 boasted second-to-none power-to-weight ratio, reaching top speeds of 260 km/h. In its time, the 718 most notably won the Targa Florio over two consecutive years in 1959 and 1960. For 2016, Porsche has decided to put an additional half-century of innovation into the classic silhouette, reinterpreting it in the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman models. Featuring highly efficient flat-four turbo engines that pay homage to the 1957 718, automotive fans have much to look forward to next year from Porsche. Get a taste from the video above.
