No expense is spared in the construction of the Model One, with a case made from 316L stainless steel, cold-forged nine times for hardness, milled, then hand-finished with mirror-polished highlights. Meanwhile, the front and back crystals are optimized for impact and scratch resistance with their ion-exchange glass finished with a custom guilloché texturing process, then complemented with Italian leather straps or forged link bracelets. As for performance, Olio offers a full day of use with its high capacity battery, which can be fully recharged in less than an hour. The high-resolution, full color display is the key player in the timepiece, using cutting-edge optical films and an ambient light spectral sensor to increase efficiency while maintaining clear readability in direct sunlight.
This theme of beauty and function carries over into the software, with the user interface allowing quick, intuitive and insightful interactions via a series of swipeable screens showing your schedule for the day, the weather, and past notifications. This much is backed up by the Olio Assist cloud-based personal assistant, which is designed to automatically offer real-time cues to you based on your preferences and current context. Compatible with Apple and Android devices, the Olio Model One is a worthy contender in the connected watch arena against much more well-established titans.
