A new entrant has debuted in the ever-growing smartwatch niche, prepared to take on Apple’s Apple Watch, Samsung Gear and other rivals. With Olio, former Apple, HP, Google and Amazon product designer Steve Jacobs hopes to disrupt the industry by offering an intuitive, well-crafted, and durable piece with its own operating system. The company has just rolled out its flagship piece – the Model One – which is sculpted from premium-grade 316L stainless steel and a black PVD hard-coat. High-impact Ion Exchange glass at the caseback protects the Model One’s signature rapid-charging coil system, which makes for lengthy, wireless charges.
