MOHSIN 2016 Spring/Summer "Magicians Do Exist" Lookbook
Inspired by famous French filmmaker Jacques Tati.

For Spring/Summer 2016 London menswear designer Mohsin Ali takes inspiration from French filmmaker Jacques Tati for MOHSIN‘s new collection. Lightweight coats, blazers, tunics, tanks, shorts and unique asymmetrical silhouettes are presented in understated navy, khaki, white and sky tones that make up a nice neutral color palette for the warmer seasons. Minimal patterns like geometric and floral jacquards complement different textured fabrics. Tati’s famous silent character Monsieur Hulot, known for his staple overcoat, hat and pipe outfit, served as direct inspiration for part of the collection. Mohsin tried to capture Monsieur Hulot’s flair for animated personality and expressions in the clothing by the depth of fabrics, print and embroidery. A number of Tati’s other creations such as the famous animation “The Illusionist” and his Parisian magician character also influenced the new range.
