Cardinal Motors Reinterprets the BMW R-100/7
Collaborating with sunglass brand Dom Vetro to revive vintage racing culture.

Brooklyn-based motorcycle shop Cardinal Motors introduces its latest DV-100 model, which is an homage to the vintage 1978 BMW R-100/7. The R-100/7 was hailed as the “Rolls Royce” of motorcycles in its heyday, and only 12,000 units were ever produced. Designer Chad Hodge, famous for the Bell Bullitt motorcycle helmet, collaborated with Italian eyewear label Dom Vetro to create the limited-edition bike, accompanied by a set of black and tortoiseshell sunglasses dubbed the Cortina. Both items provide design aesthetics that evoke nostalgia to vintage racing culture.
Cardinal Motors also crafts quality goods influenced by motorcycles and motorcycle culture with all products designed and made in the U.S. For additional details on the DV-100, visit the company’s website.
