The Roberu Atelier Is a Haven for Fine Leather Goods
Worth the trip out for leather aficionados.
Japan’s attention to detail in both product design and retail space meet perfectly in this example for Roberu Atelier. Founder Shinji Iwamoto and the Roberu leather crafters have found its nesting spot in the suburban Naka-ku area of Yokohama, where the brick-and-mortar hosts all of Roberu’s hand-crafted goods that range from headwear to footwear, leather accessories and bespoke apparel. The shop even offers hand-making certain products on-premise while you wait, such as a camera hand strap that can be completed in as little as 25 minutes. Be sure to visit the Sakuragicho stationed-store the next time you’re in Japan, as its location is only a 30-minute train ride from the hustling-bustling streets of Tokyo.
