Kanye West Accused of Plagiarism by 'Enter the Void' Director Gaspar Noé
Epilepsy-inducing typography is at the center of the dispute.

While the majority of us were in awe of Kanye West’s epilepsy-inducing visuals for the 2011 release “All of the Lights,” French director Gaspar Noé noticed some striking similarities in the typography for the opening title sequence in his hallucinogenic film Enter the Void and the Hype Williams-directed video. Though he acknowledged the powerful visuals in his film were bound to have people copying the style, Noé was more offended by the fact Williams blatantly took credit for it throughout the video. When speaking to The Daily Beast he stated, “I was more shocked by the fact that that guy who copied all the typography of my titles put his name in it — Hype Williams — when you never usually see a director’s name in a music video. He was putting his name on it over and over! It was so weird that he was not only copying it, but adding his name into the credits over and over again.” Admittedly there are similarities between the two visuals but should we give Kanye and Hype Williams the benefit of the doubt?
