Essentials: Snakehips

Items they carry around when they’re with “all their friends.”

Snakehips joins us for this week’s instalment of Essentials. With the release of their latest single “All My Friends” featuring Tinashe and Chance the Rapper, the London electronic duo is as busy as ever — they are currently on tour in the US and will head to Australia after that. Hence, they would need to ensure that they are packed comfortably when they’re on the road. Fashion-wise, they like to keep it clean and simple: the Belief Exploration windbreaker and Amongst Friends five-panel keep them safe from the chilly autumn breeze and the Nike Air Max 90 mid is the perfect sneaker choice to perform and walk around in. When it comes to on-road music production, the two aren’t too fancy with it either; all they need is to monitor with some noise-cancelling Bose headphones and input their ideas from a portable AKAI MIDI controller to their MacBook Pro. They’re also quite into nostalgic games too: namely the Gameboy Color Pokemon Red and Blue and Zelda and Mario Kart on the Nintendo 64. Baileys and Pax are their choices of drink and vaporizer respectively, and their Essentials are topped off with a few random items like an inflatable unicorn horn for cats, an anthology of literature by women and a tree decoration. Check it out above, and if you’re residing on the East Coast, make sure to catch their set at the Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival on November 6.
