In the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly, the publication goes on the set of J.K. Rowling‘s highly anticipated Harry Potter spin-off, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Based on the early years of legendary magizoologist Newt Scamander (who also happens to be the author of the Hogwarts textbook from which the film is inspired), the film follows the protagonist on his journey to collect a comprehensive catalog of the wizarding world’s magical species. Taking place decades before the birth of Harry Potter, the narrative is set in New York and will be the first in a new trilogy. The spin-off novel was also released with a companion novel, Quidditch Through the Ages, which we are hoping will inspire future installments. The project is J.K. Rowling’s first venture into screenwriting and will star Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander and Katherine Waterston as Porpentina “Tina” Goldstein. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is set to hit theaters on November 18, 2016.
