Adapted from the all-American novel by the author William Faulkner, a James Franco film presents The Sound and the Fury. Employing a narrative style known as “stream of consciousness,” James Franco’s latest project cinematically follows the novel and is based around the Compson family in Jefferson, Mississippi. Portraying the life of aristocratical Southerners, the trailer depicts the novel’s main points by which the family falls into ruin and the events leading to each member’s untimely and somewhat tragic death. James Franco plays a cognitively disabled 33-year-old man named Benjamin Compson and the film revolves around its affect on the family and those around them.
