Pablo COTS "Dapper Cafe" Exhibition @ MISSION PASTEURMaterialism, the Internet and pop culture.
Known for his vibrant and tongue-in-cheek works, Paris-based graffiti artist Pablo COTS recently put on a solo exhibition at MISSION PASTEUR in Rennes, France. Curated by Teenage Kicks Biennale, the “Dapper Cafe” is both a nod to Harlem’s Dapper Dan and an acronym for “Communication Access For Everyone,” showcased a series of bespoke apparel and throwback internet relics featuring quirky motifs that touch on themes of materialism, the Internet, and noteworthy individuals in pop culture. Some notable works include throwback computers, ’90s cellphones, 8-bit canvas works, and denim and coach jackets. Check out a visual recap of the exhibition above and head over to the artist’s website for more of his works.
