Wara From The NBHD - Protect N Serve

Get familiar with Wara of The NBHD, as the Brooklyn-bred, Atlanta-based rapper quietly released one of the most cohesive hip-hop projects last year in Kidnapped. Today, he releases one of the lead singles from his forthcoming If Guns Could Speak EP that continues on with the military-style motif that’s been working out well for him. Here’s even some words from Wara about the recrd:

“Protect N Serve is focusing on the results that I’ve seen first hand of people I grew up around getting rejected by the system because of their criminal background and past,” Wara explains. “I felt with this record I had to speak that language, and in many ways, that’s what the EP represents: its harsh content. But this is what you hear on the daily growing up where I’m from — this negative language, slang, street codes etc.”
