UPDATE: Last week we reported via HYPETRAK that RiFF RAFF and Jordan Brand may be working on a collaborative retro sneaker for 2015, teasing a pair of AJ5s with the Houston rapper’s name appearing behind a neon pink Jumpman. Today however, Sneakermob reveals a different story. A spokesperson at the athletic label reportedly stated, ”At this time there are currently no plans for this shoe or a collaboration with this individual.” Good news is you get to spend your $750 USD on Versace braids and some Neon Nation apparel.
Of all the songs pledging allegiance to Jordan Brand in 2014, RiFF RAFF‘s “TiP TOE WiNG iN MY JAWWDiNZ” was perhaps the most tolerable. It would seem that the catchy single snuck its way to Beaverton, as the rapper took to Instagram to reveal a potential forthcoming collaboration with Jordan Brand. According to details from RiFF RAFF, the collaboration will consider the Air Jordan 5 – itself the subject of JB’s concentrations for 2015 – outfitted with black leather and neon hits as they embody the rapper’s forthcoming Peach Panther and Purple Panther albums. Reportedly releasing for $750 USD in limited quantities this summer, Mr. Highroller also revealed that the collaboration will be stocked at Foot Locker, Champs, Footaction and, perhaps inevitably, Flight Club. Look for the necessary verification on this collaboration as we approach the summer months.
