The words “war is now a first-person shooter” pretty much sums up the idea behind Andrew Niccol’s Good Kill. The director teams up with Ethan Hawke once again for a film that tackles the subject of drone warfare and the psychological toll it has on the individual sitting behind the controls. Hawke plays a fighter pilot turned drone pilot who finds difficulty adjusting to combat where he never has to face the enemy, leading him to question the ethics of his missions and, ultimately, what it is he’s really doing.

Good Kill is set for release on April 10, 2015 in the UK, but there’s no word yet on when it hits theaters in the U.S.
