Golden State Warriors and Houston Rockets Unveil Chinese New Year Jerseys

Back in 2013, the NBA‘s Golden State Warriors were the first team to model the sleeved jersey option in a professional game. The franchise is set to once again reclaim their status as the forerunners in game-time styling when they take the courts on February 20 versus the San Antonio Spurs in brand new jerseys honoring the Chinese New Year. Consisting of red accents, yellow print, a graphic emblem on the sleeves, and Chinese characters centered across the charcoal jersey’s front, the Warriors will be suiting up in the jerseys on four occasions this season. The Houston Rockets, who previously drafted and welcomed retired NBA international superstar Yao Ming, will be the second team donning special Chinese New Year uniforms this year. A solid red body is finished with grey accents, white print, and a golden graphic emblem on the sleeves. Through the implementation of these new uniforms, Commissioner Adam Silver is acknowledging the NBA’s Chinese fans in a special way, and showcasing the global reach of the game.
