As an almost parallel to its Shelby Mustang release today, Ford continues its string of announcements for NAIAS with the latest installment of the legendary GT cars. From the first takes, it’s evident that the iconic American muscle car has gotten its passport stamped, taking worldly cues from some European competitors. That’s aesthetically, at least; the car is completely distinguished in drawing some 600 horsepower from a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 – making it the most powerful production EcoBoost ever. Carbon-ceramic brakes, a carbon monocoque body with structural carbon fiber body panels, and top-of-the-line Pilot Super Sport Cup 2 Michelin tires means Ford spared no material to perpetuate its historic legacy. Though still in its pre-production stage, be on the lookout for the Ford GT to hit roads tentatively in late 2016.
