Disclosure and AlunaGeorge Being Sued by Songwriter for Allegedly Stealing Lyrics
NME is reporting allegations from an unknown songwriter that claims to have written the song lyrics

NME is reporting allegations from an unknown songwriter that claims to have written the song lyrics to three of their hits. Katie Farrah Sopher is seeking £200,000 ($300k USD) over claims that Disclosure’s “White Noise,” “You and Me” and “Latch” contain lyrics from a songbook of hers that was stolen in 2009 by her ex-boyfriend, Sean Sawyers. She alleges that Sawyers shopped the songbook around his music industry contacts. On top of that, Sopher is also seeking damages from Alunageorge with claims that she also composed lyrics to their song “Attracting Flies.” Sawyers denies all accusations stating:
“I am denying all the allegations… There is zero truth to the claims made against me. I never saw the book the claimant mentions… so I could not have committed the alleged damages, theft, and copyright infringement.”
