While parts of the world battle against the injustices served by their supposed uniform-garbed protectors, Alexander McQueen draws its inspiration from a time in which these guardians of good evoked the emotions of security and comfort. Taken from the show’s notes, the collection revolves around the notion that ““all men are equal in the face of duty, sharing equal honor, valor and truth.” Creative Director Sarah Burton reimagined the uniform’s enduring dignity and cultural relevance with modern silhouettes as well as unique material and pattern choices. Highlights include pinstriped suits with the words “honour” and “truth,” and a unique camouflage-like print that turns floral upon a closer look.
