Al Gore and Pharrell Announce the Return of Live Earth Concerts to Promote Awareness of Climate Change
Built upon the belief that entertainment is able to influence the world community for action
Built upon the belief that entertainment is able to influence the world community for action regardless of social and cultural barriers, Live Earth-founder Al Gore enlisted the help of Pharrell to promote the June 18 return of the event at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland earlier this week. The Live Earth Road to Paris is set to take place over six continents over 24 hours, with event organizers aiming for an astounding 2 billion viewers to tune in across 193 networks. The first Live Earth event in 2007 saw the likes of Metallica, Rihanna, Kanye West, Bon Jovi and Snoop Dogg among 150 other acts performing around some of the biggest cities around the world. With an ever-increasing pressure for world leaders to act upon climate change, the event aims to “bring together a billion voices to shine a global spotlight on the nations convening in Paris this year and deliver a single message to all leaders.” Do you think this event will be a success?
