As workout routines become increasingly varied and exercise expands across discipline, Nike has sought to find innovative ways of simplifying the cross-training shoe. After forging said niche some 27 years ago with the Air Trainer, here we find the design legacy dotted with the latest release from the Swoosh: the Nike MetCon 1. The MetCon 1 integrates new insights on the general athlete to create a performance shoe that maximizes versatility. As such, the upper is crafted with abrasion-resistant mesh, embedded with Nike Flywire underneath the outer layer for supreme comfort and support. The dual-density midsole compliments this with its firm heel (for stability in lifting) and a drop-in component at the interior. The outsole serves to address the demands of rope workouts, making use of a sticky rubber forefoot to provide reliable traction where the athlete needs it most.
