Interesting that for all the publicity surrounding “cherry” earlier this year, William Strobeck‘s latest project has been devoid of much hype. The New York-based filmmaker recalls his early YouTube aesthetics with ”JOYRIDE.,” which further turns a lens on the young Fucking Awesome amateurs. Over the course of nine minutes, the film puts an index finger to disgruntled mumblings about the talents of Sean Pablo, Sage Elsesser, Tyshawn Jones and others, while also featuring a host of special appearances from Bryan Herman and Mark Gonzales. Anchored by shots of both kids and adults cruising around in their respective cars, Strobeck does well to drive home the pure bliss of skating with ”JOYRIDE.”
