With the expansion of marketing tools across the web, ads are seemingly everywhere on each website and corner of the internet. While most are considered a nuisance, ads, when kept in moderation, can be a beneficial tool to both the consumer and marketer. According to a study done by UK video ad platform, Ebuzzing calculated the average “value” of each web user by dividing the total amount of money spent on digital advertising in the UK by the total number of UK web users, concluding a £140 GBP value or about $232 USD for completely ad-free internet per year. Considering the hefty cost, Ebuzzing then went on to conduct a survey of 1,400 customers in which 98% responded by declining a year’s worth of no-ads browsing at that price.
