By now, you have heard about the “Ice Bucket Challenge” trend, which is currently taking over the digital sphere by storm. Its purpose? Raise awareness and money for the neurodegenerative disease Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), which affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord, causing people to lose the ability to use their muscles. The “Ice Bucket Challenge” features participants to get a bucket of iced water poured on their head and then call upon a friend to do the same.
After Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerbeg, Justin Timberlake, Justin Bieber, Drake was the latest celebrity that became a “victim” to the cause during a date of the ‘Drake Vs. Lil Wayne’ tour. Since he has done the challenge himself last week, Lil Wayne poured the ice on his partner, who nominated Beyoncé to take part. As Drake points out on his own Instagram page, “The purpose is to donate money though people!!! Support the cause!” and watch the Instagram clip above.
