Reviving the classic spirit of hip-hop with raps about personal encounters with their hometown of New York City, RATKING is rewiring the sound of its genre. Following the release of their debut album So It Goes, the trio have now released a remix to their celebrated single “Canal.” Reinterpreted by none other than Beastie Boys’ MC Ad-Rock, the track melds the group’s reckless, fist-clenching aesthetics with a funky, boom-bap ode. The result is an uncanny production filled with big beat snares and roomy keys overlaid by Hak and Wiki’s raw lyrics.
