Jez Dior shares his latest song, called “Starts Again.” The Los Angeles-based artist initiated the Grunge Rap movement with his recent two singles “Old No.7” and “Kings/1ØØ,”. “Starts Again, which was produced by frequent collaborator, holds high value for the LA-based artist.
What can you tell us about your new single “Starts Again?”
“Starts Aagain” is a song written about the repetitive nature of relationships built off of emotions. I’m a very emotional person myself and with that comes mistakes directly related to conversations had in the moment without having time to think, but also comes with such highs that aren’t comparable, it’s almost hard to find the middle of it all sometimes.
How is the Grunge Rap movement developing?
All I can say is that it’s an amazing feeling finding yourself as an artist, and for me and Danny it was quite the journey. Every time we go into the studio now we come out with something that totally fits our vision of what grunge rap is. It’s awesome to feel accomplished in doing something no one else is really doing right now.
When is your album dropping and what can we expect from it?
The full album won’t come out until early next year, but we do have an EP coming before that and a ton of content including brand new songs & videos. We worked extremely hard to create something that we can call our own, “Scarlett Sage” was a huge lesson for me and really a great developmental project, but with this new music I can really say I’m proud of Danny and I am so proud of myself, we have come full circle and created something that not only heals ourselves but gives a feeling to our listeners that they wont find elsewhere.
