Michael Cera Releases Surprise Solo Album

In case you didn’t know it, but actor Michael Cera has a legit background as a musician. The Superbad actor added backing vocals and guitar to Weezer‘s Hurley and played live bass indie-rock collective Mister Heavenly. Last week, Cera dropped a surprise solo album via Bandcamp without giving any real notification to his fans. It wasn’t until friend and collaborator Jonah Hill promoted the project through his Twitter, “My great friend Michael Cera not only is a brilliant actor, he also makes great music.” The eclectic, lo-fi album is called true that, and it features 18 tracks, including titles such as “Gershey’s Kiss,” “Clay Pigeons,” and “Sexy Danger.”
