Here’s an interesting music experiment that’s worth your while. Enigmatic producer Izzy has put together an intriguing set that has partly been inspired by Ta-ku’s 50 days for Dilla release. The piece goes by the title of A Fortnight for Kanye and its motivation behind is to push the boundaries of music and blur the lines of genre. It contains 14 tracks, that have been created within 14 consecutive days.
The vocabulary for this instrumental project alludes to projects such a Yeezus, 808s & Heartbreak, and some earlier soul sample based beats by Kanye. However, I have incorporated my own stylistic elements. What stands out the most to me about the project is the raw emotion that came through on the beats. You can hear the difference of mood from day to day which is unique to AFFK.
