Iconic camera maker Leica hit the web a few weeks ago to offer a glimpse into the conceptual design behind its Kyoto flagship store located on Hanamikoji Street in the Gion District. Occupying a recently renovated 100-year-old, two-story townhouse, this store does an excellent job in merging the brand’s historical identity with traditional Japanese culture through the building’s original structure, such as its wooden beams and pillars. Sharing a similar passion for handmade designs, Leica showcased the painstaking craftsmanship that went into some of the Kyoto store’s fine furnishings. If you’re in the area and have the chance, be sure to check out this inspiring retail experience.
