Our latest segment of Essentials takes us to the streets of Oakland, California to catch up with one of the area’s budding stars Gerald Gillum, known by most as G-Eazy. Having heavy influence on the mid-2000s ‘hyphy’ movement, songwriters, producers and musicians alike soaked in this culture renaissance. With understated and minimal compositions, the 25-year-old musician has seen his share of early success. Having notable cosigns from industry heavy hitters such as Lil Wayne and E-40, the future seems bright. Being in the studio and on the road constantly requires G to properly prepare for the unknown. Keeping his MacBook Pro and music making instruments on hand are crucial. His trademark comb-over haircut is complimented with his favorite product, Fiber Grease, whilst being styled with an essential Izola brass comb. Being a bourbon and whiskey aficionado requires a mature palette; G likes to keep a bottle of Boulleit Bourbon to stimulate the creative juices. If you haven’t already, keep up with G via his social networks and be sure to take a listen his debut album These Things Happen in stores now.
