Spotify Reveals List of Top 25 Artists Under 25

Spotify revealed its inaugural ranking of the most influential artists under the age of 25, a ranking of the “most influential” young musicians. The streaming service took into account “worldwide “No. 1 hits, volume and growth of streams and shares, and viral chart success from the last year.” With over 243 million listens for his single “Wake Me Up,” it should come as no surprise Avicii topped the list. Lorde, Miley Cyrus, One Direction, and Taylor Swift round up the top five. They are followed by the likes of Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Sam Smith, and Earl Sweatshirt, who rank in at No. 21.
