After previously unveiling the track The Shins created for Zach Braff’s upcoming film, Wish I Was Here, NPR have debuted Bon Iver’s contribution to the movie’s soundtrack. Entitled “Heavenly Father,” the track is inspired by Bon Iver architect Justin Vernon’s experience watching the film. The film’s music supervisor says that inspiration was “immediate” for Vernon. Directly finishing the film, the initial version of the piece was already being created and by the time the music supervisor had left his house, Vernon was already at work on a draft in his home studio.
You can check out the full version of “Heavenly Father” over at NPR. The soundtrack will be available for purchase starting July 15.
