W Magazine has revealed the individual to cover this year’s Art Issue, and it is none other than Pharrell Williams. Equally exciting to the fact that Skateboard P is covering this themed issue is Williams’ mention of the chosen name for his collaborative project with adidas, which was unknown until this point: “And it’s called adidas = Pharrell Williams. I know I can’t trademark the equal sign, and that’s fine with me because, you know what? It’s just… equal. The ‘Happy’ video is about equality; my music is about equality, and being associated with the idea of equal got me where I am now.” Also included in the interview are discussions of the now-instantly recognizable Vivienne Westwood hat and Pharrell’s virally successful song “Happy.” The Art Issue hits newsstands May 27 in conjunction with W Magazine‘s June/July edition.
