Questlove is a man of many hats. From owning his own restaurant to teaching at NYU, he’s always managed to find new outlets to focus his seemingly endless creativity. The newest venture Quest takes on is the executive producer role on the new VH1 music series Soundclash, which will reportedly be hosted by Diplo. Read an excerpt from Rolling Stone regarding the new series below, and be on the look out for The Roots next album, …And Then You Shoot Your Cousin, set to drop this month.
Soundclash will feature both up-and-coming acts and high-profile talent “instantaneously” tackling a range of material, from current chart-toppers to cover tunes to collaborative numbers. The premiere episode airs July 23rd and will feature rapper Lil Wayne, emo-rock mainstays Fall Out Boy and British electro-pop act London Grammar; the second episode (which airs on July 30th) includes singer-songwriters Ed Sheeran and Sia, along with alt-rockers Grouplove.
