Scottish alternative hip-hop band Young Fathers has come a long way since their formation in 2008, having spent the last few years making a name for themselves as a psychedelic hip-hop band with an uncanny ability to fade the distinctions between grime, rap, afro-beat and rock. The trio, which is comprised of Alloysious Massaquoi, Kayus Bankole and Graham “G” Hastings, originally met at a hip-hop night as teenagers, and have maintained collective passion and artistry with music ever since. Their band essentials, therefore, pay tribute not only to the music they create but also to the quirky interactions that exist between them as friends. Showcasing lifestyle products such as a football that they “stole” and a Matangi figurine that was gifted to them, the essentials grid is balanced out by the layout of musical products, with everything from a Harmonica to an EMS Synth. Check it out for yourself above.
