Following his celebrated memoir Fresh Off the Boat and the popular series for VICE under the same moniker, Eddie Huang is set to release a TV show on ABC. Huang, who will play the role as producer, will also narrate the show. Set in the ’90s, the comedy looks to retrace Huang’s childhood at a time when he and his Taiwanese family moved from Washington D.C. to Orlando. While adapting to the new environment, the family face their share of complications in juggling their pursuits of the American dream and maintaining their cultural identity.
