Compton Mayor to Grant Dr. Dre Key to The City

While we’re still waiting on an official confirmation regarding a deal between Dr. Dre and Apple over Beats by Dre, his hometown of Compton is ready to celebrate all of Dre’s other achievements so far, as it has today been announced that Compton’s mayor is offering Dr. Dre the key to the city. The mayor, Aja Brown, is also keen to celebrate his entrepreneurial spirit by officially recognizing “Dre Day” in the rapper’s honor, and hopes to work with Dre on developing the arts and music programs within the city. As for when we’ll get an official word on if he plans to accept the offer, like all things Dre, it looks like we’ll just have to wait.
