Offering a fresh mix of outerwear, printed fabrics and formal suiting, Auckland’s I Love Ugly presents its Spring 2014 lookbook. Perfect for the cooler weather that hits the brand’s New Zealand home this time of year, the release draws inspiration from the label’s origins in illustration and graphic design; bold prints and custom graphics are emphasized throughout and highlighted by the likes of the “Cartoon Frankie” series and “Big Flags” capsule. New this season is an extension of ILU’s formal wear as new patterns and speckled suiting debut alongside a reissue of its classic formal shirt design. Rounding out the collection is a new A2-sized “Gentleman’s Flag” print – printed on 308gsm Hahnemuhle Matte Art Photo Rag and limited to 10 pieces, each signed and numbered by artist Valentin Ozich – that depicts a bunting of custom-drawn flags that have come to represent I Love Ugly’s branded insignia and artwork. I Love Ugly’s Spring 2014 collection is now available online.
