With spring looming, 3.1 Phillip Lim has released its “NEW WAVE” collection in anticipation of warmer weather and a road trip or two. Spring/Summer 2014 takes its cues from the active, well-traveled “accidental tourist” — a man who’s laid-back, yet sophisticated, and as comfortable on a surfboard as he is on a motorcycle. Appropriately, the collection toes the line between work and play with garments ranging from lightweight outerwear and shirting to T-shirts and shorts. Highlights include cropped Harrington-style jackets with two-way zip closures, aviator “tearaway” pants, and the return of Lim’s popular Dolman sleeve tees with embroidered patterns and graphics. Rounding out the collection, meanwhile, are laser-cut sweaters, tank tops, wallets, and a pair of french terry shorts ideal for the man on the go.
