In less than a couple weeks, 2014 will be over. This year we’ve been blessed with a plethora of new material, both from veterans and newcomers of the industry. With all the releases, you are bound to find a few gems worth replaying on your iPod for the years to come. While the first three quarters of the year brought forth strong contenders — ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron, Travi$ Scott’s Days Before Rodeo, FKA twigs’ LP1, Jhené Aiko’s Souled Out just to name a few — this fourth quarter made it just so much more competitive with releases like Theophilus London’s Vibes, Flying Lotus’s You’re Dead, J. Cole’s 2014 Forest Hills Drive and D’Angelo’s Black Messiah, among a few others.
This time around, we are curious to know what you thought was the strongest release of 2014, not just pertaining to albums (including mixtapes and EPs) but also for songs and music videos. We’ve placed 50 votes plus “other” per each category. If you choose the latter, feel free to add your choice in the comment section below. We will add your top 10 selections to our top choices in 2014 in a few days. Without much further ado, submit your votes.
