Pharrell Williams & adidas Originals Finish Off 2014 with Two Polka Dot Packs
It’s fitting that Pharrell might punctuate the closing act of his adidas Originals collaboration
It’s fitting that Pharrell might punctuate the closing act of his adidas Originals collaboration with a ‘period’ of sorts. To be precise, Pharrell uses polka dots as the chief motif throughout his two final collections this season. The first collection finds Pharrell returning to the classic Stan Smith silhouette, offering three renditions of the sneaker with bold contrast-colored mini dots throughout the upper. This contrast is further underlined in the use of supple leather on the sneaker but satin with the accompanying jacket. The second release, set for December, iterates large white polka dots across a blue, black and red versions of the Stan Smith. The accompanying campaign imagery finds Ryan McGinley returning behind the lens to give visual identity to Pharrell’s mission to promote “unconditional acceptance.” Look for this release from the Pharrell Williams = adidas Originals collection to drop in waves on November 28 and mid-December online and at select retailers.
