Man Spends Two Years Building Street-Legal 1989 Batmobile

Batmobiles have long been the preservation of the fictional world of the Batman universe, and even those replicas that have been brought into the world are few and far between. But now, 29-year-old Australian Zac Mihajlovic has created the first ever fully street-legal Batmobile, based on the iteration as seen in the 1989 film starring Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson. Built from scratch over a period of two years with the help of his engineer grandfather, the finished replica features parts from the original Batmobile, such as the afterburner. Although Mihajlovic has received many offers for the vehicle, he intends to keep it for a good cause, namely dressing up as Batman to surprise terminally-ill children at the request of the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
