Los Angeles-based gallery HVW8 has collaborated with adidas Originals to present unique renditions to the Seely and Adi-Easte courtesy of designs by Kevin Lyons and Jean André. With the Seeley, Lyons looked to his trademark watercolors for assistance, toying with saturation and the mix of color to create a psychedelic, predator-like pattern. For the Ease, Lyons splattered paint atop the classic silhouette to create a bold fabric design. In departure from loud hues, André opted for a monochromatic stance for both models, noting “I always wear full color shoes. I’m not into many colors and many shapes. I wanted a special product that looks like something I would wear. I figured out that if you were to stand in a pool of black ink with your white shoes, then it could be a cool look and feel.” In addition to iterating the sneakers, Kevin Lyons and Jean André also gave HVW8 a new coat of paint.
