The Awful Records crew continues their reign as Atlanta’s most interesting and creative gang of up-and-comers. The collective is constantly flooding Soundcloud with heat, and Awful Records affiliate Richposlim is the latest to drop off a handful of new offerings. Richposlim’s latest is the Hubris EP, and it finds the down-south artist showcasing a sound that feels like a tripped-out, blunted hybrid of mid 90’s Memphis, modern Atlanta, and old-school Texas. It’s a varied blend of artistic approaches, and it’s all done exceptionally well. The music coming from Awful Records can’t quite be pinned down to one particular method or style, and that’s probably a good thing. Most importantly, everyone in their group seems to have enough talent to produce good music for a long time to come.
