Announced today, Tesla‘s Model S P85D is a roaring improvement over the base model and looks to smash the current conceptions of electric-powered cars. Boasting dual motors sending power to an all-wheel drive, the P85D claims to be able to match the legendary McLaren F1’s 0-60 mph time of 3.2 seconds while churning out 691 horsepower. The P85D will also be able to reach a top speed of 155 mph, 25 mph faster than the now second-place P85 model, with a range of 275 miles on a single charge. If the fact that Tesla managed to improve the car’s efficiency and range with the weight of a second motor isn’t impressive enough, futuristic features such as a semi-autopilot ensures better road safety and accident control. The P85D model is set to ship out to buyers this December.
