Way to make a comeback. Prince returns to the music scene with two all-new long-players for your streaming pleasure. Respectively titled ART OFFICIAL AGE and PLECTRUMELECTRUM. While the former makes the Purple One’s 34th solo effort, the latter serves as the debut LP from his new band, 3rdEyeGirl.
According to the press release, ART OFFICIAL AGE is a 13-track “contemporary concoction of soul, R&B and funk” with “immediate and prominent as ever” melodies while “Prince’s vocals are rich and solid, taking full advantage of his vocal range with decidedly, seductive lyrics.” It marks his first album since 2010’s 20TEN.
PLECTRUMELECTRUM, on the other hand, is an “electrifying funk-rock statement” that features 12 tracks that have been performed during the band’s UK tour earlier this year. It was recorded live and to analog tape.
