Not one for concept cars, Lamborghini reveals the Asterion LPI 910-4 Hybrid concept just one day before the Paris Motor Show. For those that aren’t familiar with the Italian automaker’s nomenclature, the “LP” stands for “longitudinal posterior,” meaning it’s a mid-engined supercar, while the “910-4” refers to its combined horsepower and all-wheel-drive train. What’s most surprising is that the Asterion – a hybrid man-bull (minotaur) in Greek mythology – is Lambo’s first gasoline-electric hybrid. Boasting a 5.2-liter V10 engine and seven-speed transmission, this model is said to reach 62 mph in three seconds flat and a top speed of 199 miles per hour. Featuring Lamborghini’s signature intersecting lines and sharp angles, there is little word on whether the Asterion LPI 910-4 Hybrid will reach production, however – based on its rivals’ successes in hybrid hypercars – it’s quite possible we’ll see this two-seater sooner than later.
