Following last week’s “No Better Blues,” headman Chance The Rapper and his band The Social Experiment have announced they will be releasing a free album entitled Surf before the end of the year. Chance has been a busy man since his 2013 Acid Rap drop and his latest offering is the first in what he is calling a series of projects with his faithful yet lesser acknowledged band. Surf has been described as a “highlight” of, firstly, the band’s trumpet player Donnie Trumpet (aka Nico Segal), and secondly, a showcase of various unique inspirations and instrumental sounds. In his interview with Billboard, Chance was adamant about defining this work as a product of the band and not strictly a Chance The Rapper production.
Chance also cause a few rumors when he announced he had been working with various artists including Frank Ocean, Migos, Rick Rubin and J.Cole. While it has not been confirmed whether these artists will feature on Surf, Francis Starlite from Francis and the Lights will definitely make an appearance on the upcoming free release.
